Pressure grows on PM after hate mob targets Sir Keir Starmer
Footage showed Labour leader being pursued down Whitehall this afternoon as police officers protected him. Was seen walking alongside Labour's shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy as he was shouted at. Mr Johnson claimed Sir Keir failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile when he was Director of Public Prosecutions.
Protesters shouted yesterday that Sir Keir was 'protecting paedophiles' and also branded him a 'traitor'. Sir Keir played no role in the Savile case and the decision not to bring charges against him before his death. Conservative MPs including Sir Roger Gale and Tobias Ellwood called on the PM to apologise for comments.
