TopGunMaverick star Glen Powell says he was almost concussed during his very brief appearance in TheDarkKnightRises as 'Trader 1,' after Tom Hardy accidentally forgot to warn him about an incoming hit during the Bane scene.😮

Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell admitted that he was almost concussed by Tom Hardy during a stunt while filming The Dark Knight Rises. Maverick will see the return of Tom Cruise as Pete"Maverick" Mitchell in the highly-anticipated sequel to the 1986 smash hit Top Gun, an action-adventure about a squadron of U.S. Navy fighter pilots in a special elite training program.

Powell will star as Lieutenant"Hangman" Seresin in Maverick, one of the new trainees now under the tutelage of Mitchell and Kazansky at the TOPGUN school. He is joined by Miles Teller as Lt. Bradley"Rooster" Bradshaw, Monica Barbaro as Lt. Natasha"Phoenix" Trace, Jay Ellis as Lt. Reuben"Payback" Fitch, and Greg Tarzan Davis as Lt."Coyote.

"Bane walks into the stock exchange and just slams my head into a computer. The stunt that we had prepared is that Tom Hardy is supposed to tap me on the back before he slams my head on the computer keyboard. One take he forgets to tap me on the back and just slams my head on the computer. I was kind of dazed. I was like, Oh s–t, I don't know if I have a concussion or what.

It is common for actors to rehearse and map out action sequences like this Dark Knight Rises scene, to avoid taking real hits and causing injury. However, after many different takes, it is possible for actors to miss a queue in the moment, particularly in a scene as high-tension as the one between Powell and Hardy's violent and intimidating villain.

Of course, the Top Gun: Maverick actor is not the first to receive an accidental hit during an onscreen fight. Both Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan were knocked out by punches from their opponents in Rocky IV and Creed, respectively. What's more, Ryan Gosling famously took a real punch to the chin by Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049, while Jackie Chan was clobbered in a kung-fu action scene by the legendary Bruce Lee.
