Stewart co-founded, stars in made-for-TV all-star racing series.
Series co-founder and 2021 Superstar Racing Experience champion Tony Stewart says he’d like to see the series expand, but that current staff and budgetary limitations make that difficult.what his dream season might hold, Stewart said, “I think it would look like a 20- to 24-car field each week. I definitely would be interested in an 8-to-10-week schedule.”
Stewart also may have spilled the beans about SRX 2.0, so to speak: the series is exploring the possibility of racing overseas, particularly during the winter, when the bottom half of the hemisphere is experiencing summer-like weather. The SRX is an International Race of Champions -style racing series featuring drivers from different racing disciplines competing on cars maintained and set up by the series.“We have a little bit of interest from overseas to bring the SRX series over there,” Stewart said. “And I think doing a 10- or 12-race schedule in the U.S.
"In the winter, when everybody's got downtime, we could go somewhere nice and warm and have a lot of fun doing the same show that we do here in the U.S.” The third season of the Superstar Racing Experience concludes Thursday night at Lucas Oil Speedway near Springfield, Mo. .
