Tomball Star Academy relocates into renovated facility on former BJ Services campus to start 2023
Tomball ISD purchased the 70-acre site, including 11 existing buildings, for less than $40 million in 2021., which provided funds to renovate a building at the center and relocate the academy.
“The phrase ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ comes to mind” said Tomball Star Academy Principal Kelly Marchiando, referring to their quick turnaround time. “It was all hands on deck that Monday and Tuesday,” Marchiando said. “Our teachers, our paraprofessionals, our assistants, maintenance, technology, everybody was working to get everything unpacked and technology tested. We were ready to rock 'n' roll on Wednesday morning when those students showed up. It was one of the smoothest starts to a school day that I've ever had as a campus administrator. It was awesome.
