The District of Tofino is warning drivers of upcoming construction along Highway 4, which will continue for more than a month.
From Sept. 9 to Oct. 18, crews will be working on “essential road base repairs and resurfacing” about two kilometres east of Kennedy Hill.
During this time, traffic will be dropped down to single-lane alternating traffic at the construction site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Drivers are also reminded to respect the safety of all roadside workers and slow down through construction zones.. On June 6, 2023 this stretch of the highway was closed due to a nearby wildfire that was sending rocks and debris onto the road. It wouldn’t be until nearly three months later, on Aug.
