The best option now would be to arrange for the Via station on Tremblay Road to fill that niche. It has a waiting room, washrooms, ticket and baggage facilities, and would be an intermodal location, with the LRT station on site and soon a link by LRT to the airport.Canada, as we all know, is a wonderful place to live. A lot has changed since the bad old days and I am grateful for that.

And I’m talking about people with pensions and savings and insurance. What about the rest of us? Are we not deserving of companionship, joy, a little levity, a lovely warm latte? The City of Ottawa encourages us to help the environment, and one suggestion is by carpooling. It makes sense, right? Fewer emissions and less traffic are a direct benefit, and with inflation being so hard, it helps reduce costs for all parties involved.

My wife started doing this. Everyday, a colleague drives to our house and parks her car in front. It is a very quiet street with almost no cars in a suburb of Kanata. Then they drive downtown in my wife’s car. And how does the city of Ottawa respond to this? Bylaw slaps a parking ticket on the windshield of the colleague’s car. Great job Ottawa; keep encouraging people to do their part. Before anyone sends a response about the three-hour parking limit in Ottawa, we know the law, but I am sure that bylaw could be doing much more important things than monitoring parked cars in quiet suburbs with no parking or traffic problems.
