Wednesday, Oct. 11: Millions have no family doctor. Don't criticize those who try to provide service for a reasonable fee, says one reader.
Rather than all the righteous indignation about a fee-for-access clinic opening, why don’t Liberal health critic Adil Shamji and politicians of every stripe address the real problem: people are desperate for primary health-care providers and are more than willing to pay to get one.
Older adults, as she also pointed out, hold a high percentage of the country’s wealth. If we have to spend it, either here or abroad, to get timely health care, again criticize the system that has created this ad hoc and much-maligned system — not the people forced to find workarounds. Just for our politicians’ information, we have had a two-tier health-care system for many years: those who have a family doctor and those millions who don’t.
