Friday, March 17: A doctor is unimpressed with the weekend surgery project in Ottawa. And, a few more words on China and election meddling.
This has happened before. In 1999, a private company was contracted to provide after-hours radiation therapy in Toronto for cancer patients. The only option considered was to contract with a private company which used public facilities after-hours. There was no consideration given to simply increasing the funding to the public system to provide more care.
The assumption that a private system is more efficient and innovative often doesn’t hold up when assessed. So when we “focus on what works best,” we must not rely on false assumptions but assess where our money will actually have the biggest effect, rather than just grab at the first option that fits our biases.Article contentThis federal government must call a public inquiry into China’s election influence.
It’s clear that he and the federal Liberals value power above the health of Canada’s democratic systems. To see through the fog of Liberal propaganda we need to be very clear on one point. There is a distinct difference between making disparaging comments about Chinese people and holding the CCP accountable for their crimes. The former is racism, the latter is not.
