As I promised earlier this year, as 2022 continues I’m going to occasionally take readers into the world of Mackenzie King and his famous diaries. So, for today I decided to see what Prime Minister King was doing on an April 9 so long ago.

“Along the shore were no end of interesting shell and debris of one kind or another,” our PM wrote in describing his idyllic day. “I found a horseshoe, a mattress and rolling in from the sea, a glass ball, about six inches in diameter, encased in a net…. I learned later from the coast guard they are used as floats by the fisherman to hold their lobster nets in place.”
