It was a sad day for fans of Canadian wrestling and politics on this day in 2005 with the death of one of the most unique candidates to have run for a seat in the House of Commons. I speak, of course, of Moondog King. A proud Newfoundlander, King , was born in St. John’s in 1949. He went on to become an international wrestling sensation with the World Wrestling Federation .
Afterwards, ran as a member of the Canadian Extreme Wrestling Party for a federal seat in Newfoundland and did so again in 2004, the latter as a Green Party candidate.
