“I’ve been fortunate enough to have had those people. To have met with enough of those people who have helped me,” Cream said. “My goal, my task is to pay that forward.” “Too often the person of color is the individual of color,” Cream said. “This may lead to a lot of implied roles, meanings, and strain not recognized by others. In any group dynamic, the individual that is in some way different — race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age etc. — is left to educate and persuade the majority of its collective ignorance on a given topic.
