AppleTV+ drops a hilarious commercial of a desperate Timothée Chalamet, wanting to appear in the streamer's projects.
Timothée Chalamet stars in a brand-new commercial for Apple TV+. The relatively new streaming service, which launched in November 2019, is home to a roster of successful series and films, including the Jason Sudeikis comedy Ted Lasso, which has already won 11 Emmys. Other titles on the platform include the genre-bending murder mystery The Afterparty, the holiday musical Spirited, and the weirdo sci-fi workplace series Severance.
Today, Apple TV+ dropped a commercial starring Chalamet, titled "Call Me" in reference to his Oscar-nominated role in the Luca Guadagnino romance film Call Me By Your Name. SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The commercial follows Chalamet spiraling after watching CODA and realizing that Apple produced the most recent Best Picture winner. He attempts to bolster himself by bragging about being in two Best Picture nominees, but when he realizes all the other stars that are working with Apple , he begs Apple to call him so he doesn't feel left out.
Although he hasn't been a fixture this awards season despite reteaming with Guadagnino for the cannibal romance film Bones and All in 2022, the Oscar nominations have not yet been announced, so there is still a chance he could kick off his year with an appearance at the ceremony. Regardless, when this year's holiday season rolls around, it will be his time to shine.
He will pull off a one-two punch with the release of Wonka on December 15. That film, which is directed by Paddington's Paul King, is a musical prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Timothée Chalamet as mysterious chocolatier Willy Wonka. It will follow his adventures as a young man, presumably including his first encounter with the Oompa Loompas.
