UNDATED - A TikToker went viral after posting a video in which she appeared to scan skip at a Kroger self-checkout.
a TikToker, who appeared to be a customer at a Kroger location in the video, recorded her reaction after receiving a "help is on the way" alert on the screen.The TikToker and worker are then presented with a playback clip of the apparent scan skip, involving what appears to be a carton of eggs., which has been viewed over 4.6 million times.
Per The Daily Dot, the video appears to show the TikToker attempting to place the item in a bag without paying. On screen, a message, which is presumably for the Kroger employee, reads: "Is pictured item on receipt. If NO, scan item."It is also unclear if the TikToker scanned the item after filming the video or if she chose to return it.
The company has closed over 20 locations across the country, per the outlet. It is unclear, however, if those locations closed due to rampant theft.
