NPR spoke with psychologist Jelena Kecmanovic, who specializes in teens and social media use, about TikTok's changes meant to help limit screen time.

When Kecmanovic dug into the details of TikTok's new policies, she was disappointed."It's not enough," she told NPR's A Martinez. "I really don't think this is that much about teens not having self-control. I think it's about the design of social media that's basically like slot machines." And yet they say 'I can't help it. There's FOMO, I don't like it. I know it puts me in a worse mood.
