Annette Porter told TBnewswatch her advice to the younger generation is simply to ‘be kind’ to one another.
THUNDER BAY – It was a day to celebrate as Annette Porter along with friends and family got together for her 100th birthday on Saturday.Deb Ritson, Porter’s daughter said it’s interesting to think about all the changes her mother has been through.“Her and my dad were from Manitoba. They met when my dad was in the army and they ended up moving to Thunder Bay because my dad wanted to come here to play hockey.”“She enjoys sitting out in the yard watching the birds and squirrels.
Derek Ritson, Deb’s husband, said they gathered friends, family and neighbourhood friends to celebrate the day.“It's not too many people you get to know at 100 years old and tell all the stories and listen to them,” he said.
