Students at Pope John Paul II in Thunder Bay , Ont., are back in class after a morning fire prompted an evacuation. 'The Thunder Bay Fire Service quickly responded, assessed the situation, and has since deemed the school safe. Buses will be picking up students to return them back to school,' the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board (TBCDSB) said in a statement issued shortly after 10 a.m. ET Thursday.

'We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritized the safety and well-being of everyone involved,' said the TBCDSB.
