Quentin Musty taken in the first round, 26th overall by San Jose

Three Sudbury Wolves got to hear their names called out from the stage during the June 28 NHL draft at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wolves star winger Quentin Musty, former first overall OHL Priority Selection choice, was selected in the first round, 26th overall by the San Jose Sharks. This gives the Wolves three first round NHL Draft picks in the past four years. Musty, who hails from Hamburg, NY, finished his sophomore season with 78 points over 53 games in Sudbury.

Musty wasn’t the only member of the Pack drafted this week. Forward Alex Pharand was taken in the fourth round, 99th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks. Matthew Mania was picked in the fifth round, 150th overall, by the LA Kings.
