NBA Finals: Warriors let Boston go wild from 3 in fourth quarter collapse
SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors led by as many as 15 points in Game 1 of the NBA finals against Boston. By the final buzzer, they’d lost by 12 and are now facing a 1-0 series deficit.
“Just being honest about what went wrong and holding each other accountable and coming out with another level of effort and desperation that we need to protect our home court on Sunday and gain some momentum in the series,” Steph Curry said. The Warriors tipped their cap to Boston, particularly the 11 3-pointers made by Al Horford and Derrick White, who shoot 33% and 31% on 3-pointers, respectively.
“We’ll figure it out. Watch some film,” Green said. “But you know, they have guys that put pressure on the rim, so you’re going to have to rotate him. We’ll have to figure out where our next rotation is coming from and do it.Steph Curry scored 21 points in the first quarter on six 3-pointers. He gave the Warriors plenty of cushion to take off for a win.
