Awards recognize the achievements and potential of students in Sault College nursing program
Three Sault College nursing students have been awarded 2023 scholarships from the Registered Nurses’ Foundation of Ontario.
The first scholarship, the Karim Moosa Memorial Scholarship, was awarded to Cheryl Osawabine-Peltier a first year Practical Nursing student. Cheryl was chosen for this award because of her demonstrated deep care and compassion, as well as a commitment to working with the elderly population. “I have been a paramedic here in the Sault for the past eight years and last year I decided to switch to a part-time schedule and apply to the Honours BScN program. I have been working two 12 hour shifts every weekend and attending classes Monday through Friday. While this schedule is demanding, I have been having such a fantastic time here at Sault College and I am so proud to receive this award.
