CAA North and East Ontario announced its annual list of Ontario’s words roads for 2023, and three of five of Northern Ontario’s worst roads are in Greater Sudbury
Although Greater Sudbury didn’t crack the top 10 worst roads in Ontario, it did manage three of five worst roads in Northern Ontario.
In February, city council approved a $1.25-million interim fix of Fielding Road, which was the least expensive of four options up for consideration. The road’s full reconstruction with water and wastewater improvements would cost approximately $45 million. Further improvements will be considered during future budget cycles.Panache Lake Road, in Whitefish, is slated to undergo a pavement rehabilitation project this year, between MR 55 to St. Pothier Road.
