Lake County Sheriff’s and Griffith Police, and the Lake County SWAT team secure a house in the 600 block of Colfax Street in Griffith after a shooting that left three people dead, according to Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. Three men are dead after a shooting Friday afternoon in unincorporated Griffith, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Shortly before 2 p.m., police were sent to a home in the 600 block of Colfax Street, Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said in a news release. Lake County Sheriff’s police, along with with a SWAT unit, Griffith Police and other emergency personnel, blockaded the street to secure the location. In a news release, police said two of the men were found dead at the scene, and the third man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. All three sustained gunshot wounds.
Martinez said detectives are investigating several factors including whether the incident may have been a murder/suicide.
