St. Anthony RCMP conducts simultaneous raids on two residences, seizing drugs, cash, and paraphernalia. One individual charged, two others under investigation.
Three individuals were apprehended on drug-related charges following the execution of search warrants at two separate residences in St. Anthony and Goose Cove on January 12th. The St. Anthony RCMP led the operation, assisted by officers from Roddickton and Port Saunders detachments, and the RCMP Police Dog Services. At approximately 1:00 a.m., authorities simultaneously executed the warrants, authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, at a home on Cabot Street in St.
Anthony and a residence on Main Road in Goose Cove. During the raid on the St. Anthony residence, officers observed 43-year-old Ryan Ricks actively discarding suspected cocaine. Bags containing cocaine residue were discovered and confiscated. Ricks was subsequently arrested. A thorough search of the St. Anthony property led to the seizure of a significant amount of cash, an intricately designed piece of jewelry suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and items indicative of drug trafficking. Ricks appeared before a court on January 13th, 2025, and was remanded into custody. He faces numerous criminal charges, including possession of ammunition while prohibited.Meanwhile, at the Goose Cove residence, police recovered approximately 30 grams of cocaine and other items consistent with drug trafficking. A 59-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were arrested at the property but subsequently released from custody. The investigation into the Goose Cove incident is ongoing, and charges are anticipated against those involved
