This year\u0027s Jalsa Salana convention will focus on building interfaith bridges across varying communities

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada will be hosting this year’s Jalsa Salana as the convention will focus on building interfaith bridges across varying communities. Organizer Zaki Ahmad said the Jalsa Salana is the longest-running and largest Muslim convention across the western half of Canada, with attendees from around the world.

“There’s going to be a lot of spiritual rejuvenation in terms of hearing the perspective of different communities and their religious teachings, as well as some great food, some workshops and exhibitions,” said Ahmad. “There’s a plethora of things that are going on.”Article content Sultan Mahmood, the convention co-ordinator, said First Nations elders from across western Canada have been invited to take part in this year’s convention as the Ahmadiyya community looks to build bridges and focus on reconciliation efforts.

Mahmood said there will be special programs for men, for women and for children. He added there will also be special prayer calls during the weekend.
