The Thompson Okanagan saw a significant bump in the number of international arrivals, nearly half of whom were between 25 and 39 years old.
It was implemented to increase long-term housing options amid a housing crisis in the province — the new legislation on short-term rentals. But in the central Okanagan, the market is being flooded with townhomes and condos for sale, and as our Ben Low-on explains, many of those properties are simply sitting empty.
