Tasha Varpio of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation has been appointed the city’s new manager of physician recruitment and retention
Recruiting new doctors to the Sault remains a top priority — and the city now has a new point person on the file.
“Tasha’s success in building strong relationships within the medical field and her passion for our region’s healthcare will be instrumental in helping us attract and retain top physicians,” says Mayor Matthew Shoemaker, chair of the Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee. “We are confident that her expertise and dedication will help us enhance healthcare quality and access for all residents of Sault Ste. Marie.
In this role, Varpio will lead the Sault Ste. Marie Physician Recruitment and Retention Program, providing strategic leadership and support in addressing the community’s physician human resource needs, such as identifying current and future physician vacancies, anticipating retirements and ensuring the attraction and retention of top medical professionals to meet the healthcare needs of the Sault.
Driven by a passion for community well-being, she is committed to helping Sault Ste. Marie attract and retain highly skilled physicians. The committee is confident that her leadership and dedication will strengthen our healthcare system and support the long-term success of our recruitment and retention efforts.
