Fall is here and so are some of our favorite autumnal activities. The Alaska Pioneer Fruit Growers Association is hosting an apple tasting to keep us in the spirit of the season. And what would fall be without flannel? This weekend’s Flannel Fest features some of the best ‘90s music from the Pacific Northwest.The final installment of the summer music series at Hilltop features rockin’ roots band Highway 9. Finn’s will be open serving food and drinks.
People line Ship Creek in Anchorage and watch rubber ducks float past them during the second annual Great Alaska Duck Race on Sept. 12, 2020. The Great Alaska Duck Race is a major fundraising event for youth sports, education and local community organizations. Watch the ducks race from the Ship Creek overlook to the Bait Shack, but don’t worry — winners don’t need to be present to win. There are $10 tickets with a $5,000 grand prize and $20 tickets with a $10,000 top prize.
