About 100 people came to the winter clothing giveaway at the Salvation Army Glace Bay between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mary said it is a big help for her with the rising costs of living expenses. The Salvation Army congregation members who ran the winter clothing giveaway in Glace Bay on Jan. 14 are dedicated to helping people struggling with the higher costs of living expenses. "If people couldn't make it today, we're open every day and we can help with food and then. We won't turn anyone away in need," she said. "We have gotten to know a lot of the people in the community so when they can't come to us we can go to them."Thanks to the support of the community, there were more than enough donations of winter clothing to meet the needs of the people who came to the giveaway.
