Tanya Pagliaroli, the lawyer representing the estate's executor, says the dog is a 'beloved' member of the family and was stolen by Verma. Victoria Shroff, a Vancouver lawyer who specializes in the law as it relates to animals, says she believes B.C. is setting an example for other jurisdictions. She also found no proof that Rocco is "a legitimate support animal" and ruled the dog is the property of the estate. She gave Verma until March 15 to return Rocco Junior.
