Spectators at the Friday night wrestling matches at the old City Auditorium witnessed an unscheduled fight between an editor and a city official.
A brief tussle broke out between City Commissioner Frank Mann and Nat Terence, editor of the weekly Houstonian. The fight resulted in Mann being charged with assault and battery and paying a $5 fine.
"I hit him because I didn't like him and I think he is no good," Mann told the Chronicle in its Saturday editions."It was not because of any particular story he wrote in his sheet.
