People who felt added stress were more likely to feel like the days had slowed down while those who had an increase in daily tasks felt the days went by quickly. This is likely because having more tasks reduces the chance of feeling bored and keeps people too busy to pay attention to time.
People who had significant changes to their lives and who were less physically active were more likely to feel less socially satisfied However, a person who is both busy but also stressed — those in high-exposure jobs, like grocery store workers and frontline healthcare workers, for example — can feel like time drags on because they continually worry about their own risk to COVID-19 on the job and bringing that home.Whether you are experiencing your days as crawling past or flying by, it seems that stress plays a large role in how we “feel” time.
