This week’s events around Metro Vancouver include Festival d’été, Story, story, die., and Frankie and the Witch Fingers.
Acclaimed Quebecois talents Klô Pelgag and Coeur de pirate perform June 18 with the 33rd annual Fesival d’été. Pelgag’s songs range from the baroque to the absurd and have garnered numerous awards. Her second album L’Étoile Thoracique made the Polaris long list and received a nomination for Francophone Album of the Year at the Juno Awards in 2018.
Coeur de pirate, aka Béatrice Martin, released her sixth album Impossible à aimer last year. A collection of ballads and bangers, it followed a record of piano instrumentals. Other festival highlights include a concert by B.C.-based singer/songwriter Arnaud Granoux and a St-Jean-Baptiste Day celebration with performances by Vallée des Loups, Montreal’s Joyce N’sana, three B.C.
