Crown seeking considerable jail time for Vincent Leonard Sr., Wayne Johnson and James Curran

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOSST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Defence lawyer Jason Edwards addressed his client’s offences one by one in court Friday, Sept. 22, beginning with those related to participating in a criminal organization.

An undercover police officer involved in a case had referred to the Vikings as “The Apple Dumping Gang,” he pointed out. Bridger argued for a 7 1/2 -year sentence for Leonard, a 6 ½-year sentence for Johnson and a six-year sentence for Curran, along with firearms prohibitions, DNA orders and forfeiture of certain items seized by police.

They’ve been before the court for seven years, ever since they were arrested as part of Project Bombard, a joint RNC/RCMP investigation into illegal activities of Vikings members.
