Adhering to a healthy lifestyle may reduce the risk of developing long COVID, according to a study published on Monday in the peer-reviewed journal JAMA Internal Medicine.

Adhering to a healthy lifestyle may reduce the risk of developing long COVID, according to aResearchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health analyzed data from 1,981 female nurses who reported a positive SARS-CoV-2 test between April 2020 and November 2021.

For participants who did develop long COVID, those who had a healthier lifestyle before getting COVID-19 had a“Previous studies have suggested that a healthy lifestyle is associated with lower risk for chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as well as early death. Our findings suggest that a healthy lifestyle may also be protective against infectious diseases,” Siwen Wang, one of the authors of the study, wrote in an email to Yahoo News.
