Have you ever wondered what the world’s sexiest bedrooms look like?

As research, I went to stay at The Franklin in London, a hotel described as “darkly decadent” in the book. A part of me wants to lie and say I spent a romantic night with myself—The Franklin provides a free mobile device with unlimited international calls. I could have used it to contact an estranged lover miles away, like a Bond girl on the run. But really I invited my local boyfriend, who ran us a bubble bath before I arrived.
There is a good feeling as soon as you walk into The Franklin, which is in a Victorian house tucked away on a crescent street in Knightsbridge. The staff are sincere; the interiors, a mixture of hague blue walls, teal and grey velvet upholstery, all doubly highlighted through a clever use of mirrors. Our reflections seemed to appear at all the right times, in all the right places. The four poster bed frame is inlaid with mirrors, and reflective frames of pressed flowers decorate the wall.
