After sailing to victory in the Republican primary for Georgia’s Senate seat in May, Herschel Walker is now set to face incumbent Raphael Warnock in the general election this November.

Industrialist Dennis Washington donated another $500,000 to 34N22. A representative of Washington named Larry Simkins explained that Walker has long been close with the Washington family and has spent time with them in Montana, but did not elaborate on how they met. A representative of the Walker campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
Investors Charles B. Johnson and Nelson Peltz each kicked in $100,000. Oil-and-gas magnate Trevor Rees-Jones and his wife Jan both wrote checks to 34N22 for $50,000. Ex-casino mogul Steve Wynn — who resigned as the finance chair of the Republican National Committee amid sexual misconduct allegations — donated $100,000 with his wife, Andrea.
Because 34N22 is organized as a super PAC, it can accept unlimited amounts of money from rich donors. In total, the group has disclosed spendingin support of Walker or in opposition to incumbent Raphael Warnock. As of early May, the group had over $3.1 million of cash on hand, which should give some additional firepower as November approaches. ”We are blessed to have major donors who support our mission,” said Stephen Lawson, a spokesperson for 34N22.list but is undoubtedly rich.
Big money is especially important for Walker, given that small donors have handed far more to his opponent. As of early May, Walker’s official campaign committee, which can only accept donations of $5,800 or less for each election cycle, has just $7 million on hand, compared to the $23 million sitting in Warnock’s warchest.
