This has been a season where under Angela Kang’s rule and post-Rick’s departure, Daryl has been given way, way more lines and plot points than ever before, having been trapped as a growing, scowling silent type for years. He’s still a tough guy, but one that actually speaks and has opinions and thoughts, and perhaps part of developing his character further still is to finally give him a romantic relationship.
