The vehicles we're looking forward to the most in 2020 via drivingdotca
We could resolve to hit the gym more often, eat healthier, or save more money in 2020, but those New Year’s resolutions are broken so often, they’re virtually meaningless at this point. Instead, we’re going to set some goals of our own — here, in no particular order, are the vehicles we’re itching to drive in 2020.
As for four wheels, I would surely like to get my hands on a C8 Corvette again, say around Mosport — ahem, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park — or some other big track where mid-engines supercar dynamics can be truly tested. I want to know if, as they’ve long contended, Chevrolet’s engineers can really build as supercar as good as our continental cousins. Or, if the only people who can really build the superset of automobiles are Italian.
Graeme FletcherFord Mustang Shelby GT500Talking about brawny V8 engines with copious amounts of horsepower, the surely riotous ride coming in 2020 promises to be the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. As with its predecessor, it takes the pony car to dizzying new heights — the 5.2-litre supercharged V8 twists out 760 horsepower, and more importantly, a tire-shredding 625 lb.-ft. of torque.
Finally, let the purists cry in their beers that Aston Martin has gone down the crossover road — as 4x4s go, the DBX is stunning, and it has the punch to back up its sleek profile. Power comes from a 550-horsower, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which is sufficient to launch the DBX from rest to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. I wonder how it’d look in British Racing Green.
Peter BleakneyYeah, you guessed it — the Ford Bronco, among a few othersComing in the spring of 2020, Ford’s resurrected Bronco sure looks the part, all upright, boxy, and Tonka-tough. At least that’s what we assume, going by the only Bronco teaser so far which is a silhouette under a suitably dirty sheet. This tyke will add some spice to a rather dreary crossover landscape.
