The newly released Dark Knights of Steel introduces a medieval Batman who also has some of Superman's power, making him the ultimate Caped Crusader.
In DC Comics' new Dark Knights of Steel, an ultimate version of Batman is introduced who shares the same power as Superman. Additionally, the alternate universe this new series is set in sees the DC heroes and villains fans know and love in a medieval fantasy world of swords of sorcery. Now, the latest issue of Dark Knights of Steel features Batman wielding Kryptonian abilities following a major reveal regarding Bruce Wayne's family tree and true parentage.
In Dark Knights of Steel #1 from Tom Taylor and Yasmine Putri, it is revealed that Bruce Wayne's Batman is a bastard and not the true heir of King Thomas. However, the end of the issue confirms that he's actually the son of King Jor-El who had an affair with Bruce's mother Martha, making Batman Superman's half-brother.
Clearly, the Batman of this alternate DC universe is not one to be underestimated seeing as how he seemingly carries some of Superman's power. While it does seem as though his abilities are more reserved as he's still part human, this medieval Batman and half-brother to Kal-El is certainly a force to be reckoned with. Furthermore, it looks as though Batman may have only just begun to discover the full extent of his powers as a true Dark Knight of Steel.
While it's unknown if this armored and sword-wielding Batman will be able to fly or shoot lasers from his eyes like Superman by the end of this new limited series, it's certainly going to be a wild ride to see him evolve and grow with these new abilities. It also hints at a "Batman v Superman" fight the likes of which the DC Universe has never seen before, especially given the rivalry that's already brewing between Prince Kal-El and the House of El's Dark Knight.
