The TTC confirmed those doubts on Thursday, stating that"the decision has been made to permanently close the line and begin to implement elements of the replacement plan."
Bus service was already increased following what was intended to be a temporary closure for the derailment investigation, and the TTC has now committed to improving shuttle service until full dedicated busways come online later this year. Since Tuesday, TTC crews have been working alongside the City of Toronto Transportation Services department to implement temporary bus-only lanes, road markings, and signage, with the aim of implementation this coming weekend on Saturday, August 26.
