The shorthanded Spurs took the shorthanded Mavericks to overtime, but couldn't overcome Christian Wood and his compatriots
Keldon Johnson slipped behind Maxi Kleber, took an long inbounds pass from Malaki Branham and completed a buzzer-beating alley-oop dunk that sent the Spurs into an improbable overtime Tuesday.
The Spurs had all five members of their makeshift starting lineup in double figures, including 17 points from Romeo Langford. Branham chipped in 20 off the bench, along with the near-game saving assist. That left Sandro Mamukelashvili to earn his first start since joining the Spurs, and only the fourth of his career.
Wood was a beast en route to his first double-double since Jan. 15. Powell came on late for his first 20-point outing since Jan. 24.
