Public information act requests were sent to nearly 600 Texas school districts that teach more than 90 percent of the state’s 5.4 million public school students to examine where books were being challenged and banned the most and why. Some findings from the analysis are below:North East Independent School District reviewed the most books in Texas, with 431 titles challenged. Following closely behind is Pasadena ISD, where 348 books were reviewed.
