The Queen's bizarre eating habits and the rules to follow if you dine with her
UNSURPRISINGLY if you’re lucky enough to be invited to dinner with the Queen there’s a number of rules you would be expected to follow.
Rules surrounding dining with Her Majesty cover both etiquette and the food itself, with some common foods and ingredients being a no-go in the royal kitchens. And it’s not just visitors who must stick to these rules, when dining with the Queen other members of the royal family are also expected to follow these rules. All food served to the long-reigning monarch must be pre-approved by the Queen herself. She previews and approves all meals for the week, with menus presented in French.
She is said to prefer lighter meals in the evening, and apparently never eats starches when alone. So if you’re invited to a meal with the queen it’s unlikely to be one with pasta, rice, or potatoes.
