The popular DIY trend I tried in my kitchen—with interesting results.
Back in November of 2020, after a few months of thinking and rethinking what we needed from our city, community, and home , my partner and I started looking for places that offered a cheaper cost of living.
Upon moving in, the kitchen had wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry with little heart cut-outs. Our ceilings are quite high and the windows transom, but because of the large…mass of wood cabinetry, the space didn’t feel open, or bright.I knew I wanted to remove all the upper cabinets to help with the cavernousness , and that I wanted to brighten up the space with not only a dominantly white-grey color, but with shapes and lines that were as seamless as possible.
