How author Adrian McKinty went from struggling to make ends meet as an Uber driver to writing the summer's next big beach read, 'The Chain' (corrects typo)
“The Chain,” a kidnapping thriller being marketed as “Jaws for parents,” is emerging as one of publishing’s biggest bets of the summer beach-read season.
Little, Brown’s Mulholland Books plans a splashy launch this week for the book, which will be sold in 35 countries. Paramount bought the movie rights. Early reviews are strong: “An original premise, relentless pacing, and strong female characters lift this nail-biter... a no-holds-barred look at how far a parent will go to protect her child,” wrote Publisher’s Weekly.
