Josh Bailey has agreed to a professional tryout with the Senators. The Senators are bringing in veteran Josh Bailey for training camp.
GM Pierre Dorion confirmed Thursday night the club has signed the unrestricted free agent winger on a professional tryout after he spent the last 15 seasons with the New York Islanders. The club studied the possibility of signing Bailey on July 1, but opted to hold off and see what happened in the summer. He finished with eight goals and 25 points in 64 games with the Isles last season.
Bailey played for Ottawa coach D.J. Smith with the Windsor Spitfires and for associate coach Jack Capuano in Long Island. Bailey may be an option depending on what happens with the roster during camp. The club has to make cap room to get Shane Pinto under contract.
