“ has more to do with of raising the profile of the NHL than just the Senators,” an NHL source said Friday. “Professional hockey has a lot of room to grow, and that’s clearly the league’s priority.” Ideally, Reynolds would like to produce a series similar to the Welcome to Wrexham series outlining Reynolds’ purchase of Welsh soccer club Wrexham FC with Rob McElhinney. It’s about to be released on Disney-plus.
The NHL wants Reynolds involved in the purchase because of his Canadian roots, his ties to Ottawa, his popularity and the fact he’s also business savvy.
