The startup's tech understands search queries, ranks results, and offers built-in apps for sites around the web, so users can publish a tweet without ever leaving the search results page.
"I think a lot of the larger search players have started to talk about how this is where we want to go, but You.com is actually already there," Beechuk said of using AI in search engines. He added that You.com was essentially culling the three-step search process — thinking about a query and submitting it to an engine; being provided with a list of options; and clicking a link to go to a website — down to two.
"What YouChat does though, is it collapses it down. It says, tell us what you want to find, so give us keywords or ask me a question or whatever, and we're just gonna give you the answer because we're gonna look at n number of websites, could be 10 websites, could be a hundred websites," he said."We're gonna summarize that all into one succinct answer for you, and you don't actually have to go anywhere. So it's kind of a proxy to the internet in a way.
