“We Don’t Do Gay”: Nivea Under Fire Following Homophobic Remarks
Global advertising agency FCB has dropped Nivea as a client, following homophobic comments made by representative from the brand on a call.that the agency had pitched a photograph of two men touching hands to the skincare brand, to which a member of the Nivea team said, “we don’t do gay at Nivea.” While FCB did not supply a comment, they have officially parted ways with their longtime client, releasing an internal memo within the company.
Another major beauty company has been forced to take a hard look in the mirror: Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has beenfor allegedly ignoring the needs of their visually impaired customers. Customer Beatriz Gutierrez has filed a suit for $15,000 in damages, as well as an injunction against the brand to immediately modify their website, claiming that “the company does not utilize industry standard screen-reading technology, which enables blind customers to interact with the site.
