Featuring a V8, a carbon steel spaceframe, and butterfly doors, this Mauck MSV 1120S is one of just 100 ever made car auto cars
If you’ve never heard the name Mauck MSV 1120S before, you’re not alone. Designed to embody a future in which large groups of high power business people could travel together in comfort, just 100 of them were ever made. And this one went up for sale.
This model was built in 1999, the last production year for the bus, which was designed to sit somewhere between aand a limo. When it was being introduced, the company’s founder Andrew Mauck described the MSV 1120S as a vehicle that combined “the luxury and image of a Lear Jet with the aura and feel of a Ferrari.”
Indeed, you can see the butterfly doors that immediately make it feel like a supercar. But the super features are more than skin deep. The MSV 1120S based on a bespoke carbon steel spaceframe and the body is made of fiberglass panels.Meet Ceecil, The 1966 Dodge Travco Motorhome With A 770 HP V8 Heart
Further adding to the luxury feel, each motorhome was made to order, and every customer got to decide how to organize their vehicle’s interior. Whereas this one has a bench seat that folds into a bed, red carpeting, a toilet, a sink, a mini-fridge, and a TV, others had big lounge seats, while others still were made to look like city buses.
This example is powered by a GM 454 cubic-inch Vortec V8 that’s hooked up to a 4L80E automatic transmission, not the Cummins 5.9-liter straight-six that was also offered., located in Cumming, Georgia, says that the engine runs very well following a full service that gave it new belts and pulleys, as well as a radiator flush.
