The Good Mother comes to theaters September 1st.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In The Good Mother, Hilary Swank stars as journalist Marissa Bennings, a woman seeking vengeance for the death of her estranged son. In this crime drama thriller, she must partner with her son's pregnant girlfriend Paige, played by Olivia Cooke. In order to figure out what really happened, they must dive into a hidden criminal underground network within Albany, New York.
Emma Tillinger Koskoff: I read the script in 2018, or maybe even 2017, and I was just really taken by the struggle. I feel like the opioid crisis is so rampant. And the mother's struggle with what happened to her son, and the thriller aspect of course. I thought it was a really great character driven drama/thriller. I love Miles. I've been a huge fan of him since As You Are. This script really spoke to me. The characters and the plot and the subject matter.
Emma Tillinger Koskoff: I mean, for me the biggest challenge was that I had never really been on the ground for a film this size. It was one of the greatest experiences of my career, I have to say. I had the best time.
Siena Oberman: They loved each other, too. They were both so excited to work with each other, before the movie, and then during the movie.
